Professional Development Day 3/21/25
Today RSU 18 staff spent the day in various enrichment sessions at Messalonskee High School strengthening their professional craft. There were sessions offered throughout the day on a variety of topics such as cultivating critical thinking, school gardening from scratch, supporting grieving students, understanding foundational strategies for autism, understanding evaluation data, creating a regulated classroom, among a handful of other sessions.
Keith Morin, Assistant Superintendent of Schools and Chief Academic Officer, wrote, “We extend our heartfelt thanks to all the presenters, including our LETRS team and various internal and external contributors, for their dedication to providing purposeful and meaningful experiences for everyone. Your efforts were invaluable in enriching our professional growth.
We would also like to express our appreciation to our school nutrition staff for preparing a delicious selection of soups, salads, sandwiches, and gluten-free options for the day. Your hard work ensured that we were well-nourished and ready to engage fully in the sessions.
A special thank you goes out to our maintenance crew for their efforts in setting up and taking down the event, as well as to our IT staff for ensuring that all technology needs were met seamlessly throughout the day. Your behind-the-scenes work was crucial for our success and is greatly appreciated.
Additionally, I would like to extend a special thanks to Megan Bacon, Jackie Hawes, and the entire central office staff for their assistance in preparing materials for this wonderful experience.” #WeAreRSU18
