Raising Readers at RSU 18: Over and Under in the Snow
Join Mr. Clark, of Belgrade Central School, as he shares Over and Under in the Snow by Kate Messner!
As always, we are giving away a copy of the book to one lucky district student who participates in the extension activity! To be entered into the district drawing, follow the steps below:
2. Email communications@rsu18.org a photo of your child’s chosen extension activity! Submissions are due by Wednesday, January 28th!
Extension Activity – take your pick from one of the following options:
1. Character Perspective – Choose one of the animals from the story. Write a short story from that animal’s point of view. Describe what the animal was thinking or feeling when it saw the two human skiers go by or heard them skiing above its home.
2. Cold Weather Activities – Make a list of five activities people like to do in Maine when the weather is cold and snowy. Then choose one activity from your list and write about a time you took part in that activity. Include details about what you did and how it felt.
3. Vocabulary – Choose four new words from the story that you did not know before. Write each word. Then write a new sentence for each word that is different from how it was used in the book.
Happy reading, RSU 18! #WeAreRSU18 #RaisingReadersAtRSU18
