Strumming Into the Day: Staff Strike a Chord with Ukulele Basics
Over 40 staff members kicked off their professional development day by participating in a Ukulele Basics session led by PreK–5 General Music teacher Sue Paradis. Participants learned the fundamentals of playing the ukulele, including proper instrument hold, strumming techniques, reading chord charts, playing chords, and transitioning between them.
In no time, the group was strumming along to songs like “Lime in the Coconut,” “Someone You Loved,” “Ho Hey,” and “Good to Be Alive.” Many staff members shared that it was a fun and energizing way to start the day. #WeAreRSU18
